Lock-screen messages when a field changes
Template fields now support change messages, so an update can announce itself on the lock screen instead of changing silently.
Silent updates keep a pass current. Sometimes, though, you want the holder to notice: the gate moved, the balance changed, their order is ready.
Template fields now accept a change message, a format string like
Gate changed to %@ that Apple Wallet shows as a lock-screen notification
whenever that field's value changes.
- Set it once on the template field in the designer or the API
- Any
PATCHthat changes the field's value triggers the notification - Leave it unset and updates stay silent, exactly as before
One string turns a data sync into a customer touchpoint.
