Ways to distribute a pass

Updated June 29, 2026

Every pass has one share link that does the right thing on any device. How you get that link in front of people is up to you, and different channels suit different situations.

Your options

  • Email — send the link, or let Passmint deliver the pass for you when you include the holder's email at issue time. Best for tickets, confirmations, and anything tied to a known recipient.
  • Text message — paste the link into an SMS. Short, immediate, and high open rates. Good for reminders and last-minute sends.
  • QR code — every pass comes with one. Print it on a poster, receipt, or table card, or show it on a screen for people to scan. Best for in-person and physical placements.
  • Link — drop the URL into a button on your website, a confirmation page, or a chat message. Best when the pass follows an action the person just took.
  • Embed — put the link behind an Add to Wallet button in your own flow so it feels native to your product.

Picking a channel

  • Know who the recipient is? Email or text the link, or let Passmint deliver it.
  • Reaching people in a physical space? QR code.
  • Sending the pass right after a purchase or signup? Link or embed in that flow.

The same link works everywhere, so you don't have to choose just one. A common pattern is to email the pass and also show a QR code at the door as a fallback.

Distributing at scale

Handing out passes one by one is fine for small numbers. When passes should go out automatically (after a ticket sale, a signup, or a booking), connect a tool with Zapier or use the API so each pass is issued and its link delivered without manual work.

Whichever channel you use, the install and engagement that follows shows up in your distribution dashboard.
