Why didn't my pass update?
Updated June 29, 2026
The good news first: you don't have to do anything to update a pass. When the business changes it, the new version comes to your phone on its own. If your pass still looks out of date, here's what's usually going on.
Updates are automatic
There's no "refresh" button to worry about. Whenever the issuer updates a pass, your wallet receives the change and updates the card in place. Most updates arrive within seconds.
Why yours might look stale
- Your phone was offline. Updates come over the internet. If you were out of signal or in airplane mode, the change arrives the next time you reconnect.
- You haven't opened it yet. Try opening the pass in your wallet, which prompts it to check for the latest version.
- Low power mode. This can delay background updates. Charge your phone and check again.
Give it a little time and reopen the pass. In almost every case the update simply hadn't reached your phone yet.
If the pass is genuinely showing wrong information and doesn't correct itself, the issuer may not have made the change you expected, or hasn't made it yet. The pass on your phone always reflects what the business has set.
When to contact the issuer
If you've waited, reopened the pass, and confirmed you're online, but the details are still wrong, contact the business that sent you the pass. Only they can change what the pass says.
