The pass activity timeline
Updated June 29, 2026
Every pass keeps a timeline of what's happened to it, from the moment you issued it to the moment someone removed it. Open a pass from your dashboard to see its activity. It's the quickest way to answer "did they actually install it?".
The events you'll see
- Pass created — you issued the pass.
- Landing page viewed — someone opened the pass install link.
- File downloaded — their phone fetched the pass file (an Apple-specific step just before the wallet sheet appears).
- Add to Google Wallet clicked — someone tapped the Google save button.
- Added to Apple Wallet / Added to Google Wallet — the pass was successfully installed.
- Pass updated — you changed the pass and Passmint sent the update out.
- Update delivered to device — a device confirmed it received the update.
- Removed from Wallet — the holder deleted the pass from their wallet.
- Voided — the pass was marked invalid.
The events appear in order, with timestamps, so you can follow the whole life of a single pass.
What the timeline tells you
- Created but no "Added to Wallet"? The pass was issued but nobody has installed it yet. Worth a nudge or a re-send.
- Added, then a gap, then update delivered? Updates are flowing normally.
- Pass updated but no delivery? The phone may be offline and will catch up. See my pass isn't updating.
- Removed? The holder deleted it. Once removed, it stops counting as an active pass.
The timeline is per pass. For the same events rolled up across all your passes, trends, and conversion rates, use the distribution dashboard.
For developers
These same events are available as webhooks, so you can react to installs, updates, and removals in your own system in real time.
