"Add to Google Wallet" isn't working
Updated June 29, 2026
If Add to Google Wallet doesn't work, the problem is usually one of three things: where you opened the link, which Google account you're using, or a test pass that isn't meant for you.
Open the link on your Android phone
The save link works on a phone. On a computer it shows a QR code instead, since there's no wallet to save to. Scan the code with your phone, or open the link on the phone directly.
"Unable to save pass"
This error most often means the pass is a test pass that your Google account isn't approved to save. Test-mode Google passes only save for accounts added as testers by the sender. If you're testing with a colleague's pass, ask to be added as a tester, or ask them to send a live pass. The sender can read test issuer vs your own issuer for the details.
Wrong Google account
If the pass saved but you can't find it, you may have saved it to a different Google account than the one you're looking in. Open Google Wallet, switch accounts, and check each one.
No Google Wallet button at all
A pass can be Apple-only, Google-only, or both. If the sender issued an Apple-only pass, there's no Google version to save. Look for Add to Apple Wallet instead, or ask the sender to issue a Google pass.
Make sure the Google Wallet app is installed and set up, and that you have a working connection. Google saves the pass over the network, so a weak signal can cause it to fail.
If none of this works, contact whoever sent the pass.
